I.r. spectra of polycrystalline thin films of arsenic trioxide obtained by sublimation of cubic arsenolite in presence of an inert gas (He) at 1 mmHg, 10 mmHg, 100 mmHg and 760 mmHg are reported. The spectra exhibit modifications if we compare with those obtained by sublimation of arsenolite in vacuum (10-3mmHg). These differences have been interpreted in accordance with a molecular structure As4O6 of the films and with modifications in themselves produced by the presence of the inert gas in the process of sublimation-condensation. These structural modifications are connected according to surface state of solids in relation with the adsorption processes in the heterogeneous catalysis.
